"Okay, so it's ridiculously tall once assembled. Mine stands about 30.5" tall once assembled. If you can't get used to a tall bed or have joint issues, maybe not for you. I utterly do not mind having to hop up to the bed. It's incredibly convent to have a cubby hole above my head to keep my glasses, alarm clock, books, and drink.
•Only complaint about the cubby holes: The cord hole is really wide and we had to wedge stuff into it to keep the charger cords from constantly falling down. It stands 40" above a normal wall plug. If your power strip is behind the bed it can be very hard to reach to unplug something as you aren't moving this goliath. You'll have to lift the mattress to reach between the empty space between the bottom of the drawer's panel and the slats that the mattress covers up.
2 middle drawers. The middle drawers are lined with faux velvet. Makes a great place to keep the coasters and lint roller and smallish bottle of wood cleaner.
8 of those big drawers. The drawers a big enough to hold 11 size 7.5 heels or 8 men's size small pants and 14 men's small shirts.
Even the top of the bed that runs over the drawers and the cubby holes can be used as a shelf.

The ONLY man-made wooden parts are the panels of wood that cover the drawers and the velveteen-covered headboard drawer's bottoms. But everything (except the wooden slats) are chemically sealed and warp resistant.
Nobs are hefty solid wood that have anchor screws going into them, so you'd have to strip solid cast metal before you twist off the nobs.
It met my higher hopes. Only complaint is that the instructions were a bit minimalistic. But it was delivered undamaged or scratched."
