Lori says it hurt her when all her daughter wanted when her mom was away was to have her read a bedtime story. That put the seed in Lori’s mind to create a toy that wouldn’t just talk, but that would use her own voice. The following video is product briefing:
The Original Bedbug actually looks like a cuddly little ladybug – red and black – and just the right size for cuddling. It’s a high quality, plush toy with which you can record personalized messages over and over again.

Don’t worry about having to be a technical genius to record your messages or for your child to be able to hear them. No Internet connection is required. All you do is turn the bedbug over, pull the Velcro strap and take out the small box.
The box has three buttons for three recorded messages – morning, night and storybook – and a “record button.” Simply press the chosen type of message (for example, storybook) and the record button simultaneously and begin to record your message.
When finished, tuck the box back into the bedbug. Now, all your child has to do is press gently on one of the three legs to hear your message. You can record up to three personalized messages and even read a three-minute story.
Messages and stories can be changed easily. You’ve likely seen other toys, cards and story books with which you can record, but the Original Bedbug is unique. It allows you to change the messages at will and is soft and cuddly for your child to enjoy.
Don’t worry about waking up your child by the message accidentally turning on. The Original Bedbug is designed so that messages can only be heard by pressing the appropriate button at the bottom of the bedbug’s legs.
An interesting side note about the Original Bedbug is that it comes in a recycled box and when you purchase one, 1% will be given to “One for the Planet.” So, you can feel good about your toy purchase for today – and tomorrow.
